Amwins Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Amwins team members deserve to work where they feel like they can be their true selves while contributing to the success of the organization. We strive to provide such a workplace and we emphasize building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture for all employees. Welcoming diverse viewpoints strengthens our firm and positions us for long-term success. Most importantly, it encourages teamwork and a sense of shared belonging.
Amwins D&I Action
Moving from conversation to action is where we demonstrate the authenticity that makes us different. Amwins, supported by our employee-led Diversity & Inclusion Council, focuses on four primary areas:
In addition to the work of the Council, we partner with organizations leading the charge to foster diversity and inclusion in our industry. And soon, our CEO Scott Purviance, will sign the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge, joining more than 2,000 other CEOs in this commitment to lead change from the front.
The Implicit Association Test (IAT) measures the strength of associations between concepts and evaluations or stereotypes to reveal an individual’s hidden or subconscious biases.
Our brains are wired to make assumptions, which can sometimes be off base. We think it’s an honest mistake; science calls it a blind spot. Click here to view a video discussion on the topic.
We value the opportunity to recognize and celebrate multiculturalism. Sarah Richardson, vice president of meetings, events and administration, speaks to the rich and diverse culture of the Arab American population and the importance of honoring it. Please join us in doing so!
Amwins supports APIW’s efforts to provide women insurance professionals with unparalleled opportunities for professional development and networking.
We support the Latin American Association of Insurance in their mission to ensure a healthy insurance environment.
Amwins supports the WSIA Diversity Foundation to help influence meaning full progress in the diversity of the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines insurance industry.
We have started two US based LINK chapters to help make the insurance industry the employer of choice for the LGBTQ+ community.
