The road to your specialty insurance career starts here.

At Amwins, we recognize that people are our greatest asset. We also know that the only way to get hands-on experience is to give it to you ourselves. Our internship program provides an in-depth understanding of the risk management insurance market through education and training that reflects real-world, day-to-day scenarios.

We want to make your internship at Amwins a positive experience that not only relates to your studies, but your overall career goals. Our internships aren't one-size-fits-all — you'll have the opportunity to test career choices without making a permanent commitment. You'll also connect with professionals and like-minded people in the fields that interest you most.

Wondering if you're eligible for an Amwins internship? Here's our hiring criteria:

  • You're enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university
  • You have an overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • You're pursuing a degree major in risk management and insurance, or a related field

While you'll gain the opportunity to explore various fields across Amwins, here's a quick look at how our internship divisions are organized:

  • Brokerage: From marketing accounts to preparing quotes and binders, an Amwins Brokerage internship gives you hands-on experience with insurance placements.
  • Small Accounts (Amwins Access): This program is designed to acquaint you with delivering competitive solutions to small commercial and personal lines risks.
  • Underwriting: Gain exposure to all aspects of underwriting by working with operating companies across our niche product lines.
  • Group Benefits: Participate in project-based assignments for our stop-loss, self-funded and general agency clients.

Take the first step in your insurance career — we'll give you the tools to do the rest.

Trent Morgan

As an upcoming graduate at the University of Houston Trent Morgan was eager to join an institution, apply his ever-growing industry knowledge, and begin gaining real-world experience in the field. After learning of an upcoming opportunity on the Amwins Access team in Dallas through his Gamma Iota Sig President, Trent quickly found a place as the team's newest intern. "The amount of knowledge I had the opportunity to obtain was the main selling point. There was no shortage of help and teachers at Amwins. Many days were spent with the different departments, events, classes, carrier partners, and even an "intern swap" with a local retailer to learn more about their industry side. The E&S space is unique in the sheer amount of different things we see daily. I have learned so much about different industries that I would never have elsewhere."
