Amwins today announced that Lee Spurrier has joined Amwins Program Underwriters, part of Amwins Underwriting, to lead the development of trade credit capabilities across the division. 

Spurrier brings more than 25 years of trade credit insurance experience, including deep expertise in underwriting, distribution, product development and platform growth. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Coface North America, where he oversaw revenue growth, profitability, distribution and product development across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Prior to his role as CCO, Spurrier served as a General Agency partner for Coface, managing a trade credit portfolio spanning 12 western U.S. states. There, he optimized operations, strengthened go-to-market strategies, and successfully expanded the business prior to its acquisition by Coface.

Spurrier’s arrival marks the latest investment in Amwins Underwriting’s growing list of credit insurance capabilities. Applied Risk Capital, a leader in leveraged finance, joined the division in October 2025.

Amwins’ credit insurance offerings will span coverage for both trade and non-trade transactions, with proprietary and innovative offerings for Amwins clients and retail broker partners.
