Two recent leadership changes reflect that commitment.
Matt Wasta has stepped into a newly created role focused on building a cohesive healthcare strategy across APU. Working closely with all five APU healthcare programs, Matt will help deepen relationships, identify new opportunities and support sustainable growth across the portfolio.
As part of this initiative, Amanda Fioretti has been named Senior Vice President and program manager for APU’s Long-Term Care Facilities program. Amanda has spent the past 13 years underwriting the program and is a 2024 graduate of the Amwins Women’s Leadership Program. In her new role, she will oversee one of APU’s largest programs, lead a team of eight and continue strengthening client relationships while addressing the day-to-day challenges that come with a growing portfolio.
Matt and Amanda have more than two decades of shared experience in the healthcare professional liability space, having worked together at OneBeacon, Ironshore and CIMI before joining Amwins in 2013. Together, they built APU’s long-term care program into a $70 million premium business, combining strong service with disciplined underwriting rooted in Matt’s actuarial expertise.
Their long-standing partnership supports a seamless transition for long-term care and positions APU for continued success across the broader healthcare market.
Matt and Amanda officially stepped into their new roles on January 1, 2026.
