M. Steven DeCarlo
Chief Executive Officer

M. Steven DeCarlo has served as Chief Executive Officer of AmWINS since December 2000. Prior to joining AmWINS, Mr. DeCarlo held various management positions with Royal & SunAlliance USA, Inc. from 1988 to 2000, including Senior Vice President for Business Insurance (1998-2000) and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Royal Specialty Underwriting Inc., Royal & SunAlliance’s excess and surplus division (1988-1998). He has served on the AmWINS board of directors since he joined AmWINS in December 2000.

W. H. “Skip” Cooper, CPCU
President

“Skip” Cooper has served as President of AmWINS Group, Inc. since May 2007. Prior to joining AmWINS, Mr. Cooper had served as Executive Vice President of CRC Insurance Services, a company he joined in 1985 as its 12th employee. During his time at CRC, Mr. Cooper formed the Property Department and held many leadership positions within the firm. Prior to 1985, Mr. Cooper worked in various industry positions including underwriting at Fireman’s Fund and internships at Lloyds of London.

Scott M. Purviance
Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Secretary

Scott M. Purviance has been the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Secretary of AmWINS since July 2001. Previously, Mr. Purviance was Vice President of Finance for the Business Insurance Division of Royal & SunAlliance USA, Inc. (1999-2001) and was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the insurance services group within the Assurance and Business Advisory Services (ABAS) practice (1992-1999).

Samuel H. Fleet
President, Group Benefits Division

Samuel H. Fleet has served as President of our Group Benefits division since April 2004. Mr. Fleet founded National Employee Benefit Companies, Inc. (NEBCO) and related companies and served as the principal executive officer of these companies until they were acquired by us in July 2000. Mr. Fleet has continued to serve as President of NEBCO since that time.

J. Scott Reynolds
President, Specialty Underwriting Division

J. Scott Reynolds has served as President of our Specialty Underwriting division since April 2006. Mr. Reynolds formerly served as Chief Actuary of AmWINS from July 2002 to April 2006. Prior to joining AmWINS, Mr. Reynolds worked as Actuarial and Pricing Manager of the Business Insurance Division of Royal & SunAlliance USA, Inc. (1999-2002).

James C. Drinkwater
President, Brokerage Division

James C. Drinkwater has served as President of our Brokerage division since April 2008. He formerly served as Chief Operating Officer of the division. Prior to joining AmWINS in 2005, Mr. Drinkwater held executive positions with both Stewart Smith Group and Willis North America. He began his career in the London marketplace.

Donna L. Hargrove
General Counsel

Donna L. Hargrove has served as General Counsel of AmWINS since April 2008. Prior to joining AmWINS, Ms. Hargrove served as lead corporate in-house counsel for BB&T Insurance Services, Inc. Earlier in her career, she served in private practice with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC concentrating in mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters.

Kristin L. Downey
Director, Human Resources

Kristin L. Downey has served as Director of Human Resources of AmWINS since December 2002. Prior to joining AmWINS, Ms. Downey was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she spent five years in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services (ABAS) practice and two years as the Recruiting Manager for the Carolinas ABAS and Tax practice.
