AmWINS Group, Inc. (“AmWINS”) is pleased to announce that Todd Atwood, the firm’s Chief Information Officer, has been named CIO of the Year in the large private company category by the Charlotte
. Todd’s use of technology in innovative ways to optimize business processes was recognized during an awards ceremony held at The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, N.C. on August 19.
“Todd’s position requires a balance of owning AmWINS’ enterprise operations and consulting on the technology investments and direction of our operating companies,” says M. Steven DeCarlo, CEO of AmWINS. “His strategic vision, along with the local partnerships he’s developed, demonstrates his initiative to make a difference not just in the firm, but within our community.”
As a global distributor of specialty insurance products and services, AmWINS is committed to technology and the capabilities it provides employees, clients and markets.
“At AmWINS, we work together to ensure our daily efforts are meeting the objectives of our operating companies and exceeding the expectations of employees,” says Todd. “The IT team works directly with each of AmWINS’ divisions so we can understand where the business is headed as a whole.”
This level of flexibility is changing the game of traditional IT departments.
“The talent we’ve added in the past 18 months, along with the cultural shift in how IT is run and the strategic vision we are executing, has already begun to strengthen our market position,” Todd says.
